FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) -
Republican candidate for the 4th congressional district Todd Rokita’s campaign manager Laken Sisko quit this past weekend. That’s the third campaign manager to leave Rokita’s campaign since the primaries.
A representative with Rokita at a debate Monday night in Frankfort didn’t allow News Channel 18 interview Rokita about the issue, but before the debate Rokita told our sister station WISH-TV it isn’t a problem that three campaign managers have left.
Rokita said it was understood that his first manager Cam Savage would leave after the primaries. Savage is now working on Dan Coats’ campaign. Mike Sullivan then came onto Rokita’s campaign but also left. Sisko replaced Sullivan.
Rokita said people come and go on campaigns all the time.
“You are talking about the young people. They are coming and going. They are coming onto campaigns. They are leaving campaigns. I’m happy that they have served and I’m happy to see them go on to other things,” Rokita said.
Rokita said chief of staff and deputy secretary of state Scott Bowers will start Tuesday as his new campaign manager and it was always the plan for Bowers to come on to the campaign.
