The Gala is a special evening to honor Ambassador Daniel Ayalon and Mrs. Anne Ayalon, for the tremendous advances made in building support and understanding for Israel with the American Jewish and Christian communities, and in the corporate and political arena. In addition to honoring the Ayalons the evening will serve to welcome the new Ambassador of Israel to the United States, His Excellency, Sallai Meridor and Mrs. Noa Meridor. During his tenure, Ambassador Ayalon has traveled widely outside of Washington D.C., meeting with both Christian and Jewish leaders, business executives, academics and political leaders to promote a better understanding of Israel and deepen cooperation with it at all levels. The Ambassador frequently has appeared in the national and international news media.
In addition to Paula White, Ambassador Ayalon will be honored by Rabbi Levi Shemtov of Prayer Chabad in Washington D.C.; Tony Gelbart of Nefesh B'Nefesh; Malcolm Hoenline of The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations; Congressmen Roy Blunt (R-Mo) and Tom Lantos (D-Ca). Senate Chaplin, Barry Black will give the benediction. President George W. Bush has been invited to keynote the evening, which is sponsored by Love of Israel in cooperation with the Israeli Embassy. The program will also feature special messages from Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and from Pastor John Hagee.
