Team Sanders Pencils Local Interns Into Lineup
GETTYSBURG, PA - Jeff Sanders (D-New Freedom) has bolstered his campaign's roster by the addition of two interns - Andrew Alosi of Shippensburg and Mark Murphy of Gettysburg.
"I'm thrilled to have these two exceptional young men on my team," Sanders said. "Not only are they both bright, principled, and patriotic, they represent what this campaign is about - making sure Congress works for everyone."
Alosi, 21, a senior at Shippensburg University who is majoring in Public Administration will be responsible for assisting the campaign's senior staff with major tasks associated with the management of the campaign. Alosi will also head the campaign's aggressive youth voter effort.
Murphy, 15, who will be entering his junior year at Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown, will be a general assignment intern.
As a policy, the campaign looks at internships primarily as an opportunity for students to learn about the political process. Consequently, each intern will have the chance to participate in all aspects of the campaign, from issues to polling to press.
